Skyward therapists meet with children and young people in their own home; their educational or child-care setting or our clinical setting. Skyward therapists work in partnership with parents, school staff and other professionals, to enable a trusting, child-centred, fun approach to intervention – maximising each child/young person’s potential for progress.

Assessment

  • Initial assessment / screening / observation

Paperwork

  • We provide a variety of advice including summaries or detailed reports.
  • Pupil profiles.
  • Reports to support school transition.
  • Education Health Care Plan (EHCP) reports.

Intervention

  • 1:1 therapy. (Face-to-face or online).
  • Group therapy
  • Parent and child video interaction – VERVE approach.
  • Supporting parents and pre-school/school staff in delivering our own or NHS Speech and Language Therapy advice through provision of modelling, training and coaching.

Liaison

  • Attendance at meetings eg school transition meetings, EHCP review meetings etc
  • Liaison with other professionals including NHS Speech and Language Therapy Services.
